UNITED UTILITIES ANNOUNCES THE DISPOSAL OF ITS INVESTMENT IN NORTHERN GAS
NETWORKS
United Utilities today announces that it has agreed the disposal of its entire
15 per cent investment in Northern Gas Networks Holdings Limited to the
existing shareholders* for a cash consideration of £85.75 million. Completion
of the transaction is expected by the end of 2009.

*The existing shareholders in Northern Gas Networks Holdings Limited, excluding
United Utilities, are: PG (April) Limited, an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary
of Cheung Kong Infrastructure Holdings Limited; Beta Central Profits Limited, a
wholly-owned subsidiary of Hongkong Electric Holdings Limited; and SAS Trustee
Corporation (managed by RREEF Alternative Investments).
