               Chairman's Annual General Meeting (AGM) Statement               

                "Confident of achieving strong growth in 2006"                 

At today's AGM, Sir Ian Wood, Chairman & Chief Executive of Wood Group, the
international energy services provider, said:

"In very healthy oil & gas markets, we are seeing strong demand for our
products and services. Our global presence, with our international recruiting
and people development initiatives, is enabling us to meet this demand. We are
also continuing to develop our geographic reach and broaden our service
offering to improve our market positions.

"In Engineering & Production Facilities, we are winning a range of new
contracts with good activity levels in upstream, midstream and downstream. In
Well Support, all our activities are performing strongly and we continue to
grow in international markets. In Gas Turbine Services, we are seeing modest
improvement in the North American power market.

"We anticipate oil & gas markets will remain healthy and are confident of
strong growth for the year in line with market expectations. Longer term, we
believe our continuing investment in new business opportunities and in the
knowledge and experience of our people will bring continuing success."
