New Board Director

Mark Harry Papworth joined the board of John Wood Group PLC ('Wood Group') on
16 January 2006 as an Executive Director. Mark joined Wood Group in February
2005 and is Chief Executive Officer of the Gas Turbine Service.

Allister Langlands, who had taken over the responsibility for the Gas Turbine
Services activities some two years ago, now reverts fulltime to his role as
Group Deputy Chief Executive.

In accordance with paragraph 9.6.13 (1) of the Listing Rules, Mark Papworth has
advised that during the past 5 years, he has not been appointed as a director
in any other publicly listed company.

Mark Papworth confirms that there are no other details which require to be
disclosed under the Listing Rules LR 9.6.13 R (2) to (6).
