18 February 2010 Wood Group appoints Michel Contie as new Non-Executive Director Wood Group has strengthened its board with the appointment of Michel Contie as a Non-Executive director. Michel, who will join the board on 24 February, has an extensive and varied E&P background having spent some 35 years in various senior executive positions with Total where he was latterly Senior Vice President Northern Europe and a member of the TOTAL E&P Management Committee retiring in 2009. Michel previously held senior positions covering Northern Europe, South America and the Middle East. An Officier de l'ordre National du Merite, Michel is a member of the Management Committee Board of OGP (Oil & Gas Producers Association). Welcoming his appointment Sir Ian Wood, Chairman, said, "We are delighted to welcome Michel to the Board. His wealth of experience and wide knowledge of the international oil and gas industry will be of great value to the Group." He holds a Doctor Business Administration, from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, is a past President of UKOOA (UK offshore Operators association) and was previously a member of PILOT.
