Wood Group GTS awarded five-year operations and maintenance contract extension
worth $25 million
HOUSTON, February 16, 2012- Wood Group GTS has received a five-year contract
extension from Sacramento Power Authority (SPA) for the operations and
maintenance (O&M) of their SPA CoGen III facility in Sacramento, California,
bringing the total contract term to 10 years. SPA is a Joint Powers Authority
formed by the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) and the SMUD
Financing Authority (SMUDFA).
The 160MW SPA CoGen III project consists of a Siemens V84.2 gas turbine
operating in cogeneration cycle, providing power and steam to the Campbell's
Soup facility adjacent to the power plant. Under this agreement Wood Group GTS
is responsible for care and custody of the plant, including daily operations
and routine maintenance. This contract renewal strengthens the relationship
between both companies and follows a similar extension of an O&M contract for
SMUDFA's Cosumnes Power Plant in 2011.
"Wood Group GTS is committed to delivering results above and beyond the
requirements of this project," stated Frank Avery, President of Power Plant
Services, Wood Group GTS. "We focus on issues that are important to our
customers, deploying proven methodologies and procedures to ensure efficient
plant operations in a safe and environmentally conscious manner. We are
delighted that SMUD has again demonstrated their confidence in us to meet their
expectations."
