The state capital Munich owns 100 percent of SWM. Hence SWM belongs to the citizens of Munich, and is therefore an important constituent of the municipal public services. For decades, SWM has stood for safe, reliable public services and resource conservation in supplying the Bavarian metropolis with energy (electricity, natural, district heat) and spring-fresh drinking water from the Bavarian sub-Alpine countryside. In addition to generating power and supplying water, the services provided also include power network management, distribution and sales.
