On 10 January 2007 the Directors and persons discharging managerial
responsibilities ('PDMRs') of 3i Group plc (the 'Company') listed below acquired
interests in the ordinary shares of 62 69/88p each in the Company ('Shares') as
detailed below at a price of £10.09 per Share.  These interests were acquired
through the re-investment of the Company's interim dividend paid on 3 January
2007 on Shares which were the subject of share awards held under the rules of
The 3i Group Deferred Share Bonus Plan and The 3i Group Discretionary Share
Plan.
