On 22 July 2008, 3i Group plc (the 'Company') was notified that on 22 July 2008 Mr P E Yea, a Director and person discharging managerial responsibilities, was informed of the purchase of 225 ordinary shares of 73 19/22p each in the Company ('Shares') made on his behalf, at a price of 890p per Share, through a pension plan.  

This transaction arose from the reinvestment of dividends on Shares retained within the above mentioned pension plan and took place on the London Stock Exchange.
