3i Group plc - Director appointment

Further to the announcement on 6 July 2011 that Mr Simon Borrows would be appointed as an Executive Director and Chief Investment Officer of 3i Group plc, this announcement is to confirm that his appointment has taken effect today, 17 October 2011.

Mr Borrows is a non-executive director of The British Land Company plc and of Inchcape plc. There are no further matters to disclose in accordance with paragraph 9.6.13R of the FSA's Listing Rules.
