3i Group plc: Timetable for final results in respect of the year ended 31 March
2005

The Meeting of the Committee of the Board of 3i Group plc at which the results
for the year to 31 March 2005 are due to be approved, and the final dividend
recommended, has been convened for the afternoon of Wednesday 11 May 2005. The
preliminary announcement of the results will be released by notification to the
London Stock Exchange before 8.00am on THURSDAY 12 MAY 2005.

The expected financial calendar is as follows:
Post accounts to shareholders                               Friday, 27 May 2005
Final dividend record date                                  Friday, 17 June 2005
Final dividend payment date                                 Friday, 15 July 2005
