On 20 November 2007 it was announced that 3i Group plc (the 'Company') had
purchased 300,000 of its own ordinary shares of 73 19/22p each ('Shares'), for
cancellation. The Company now confirms that these Shares were cancelled as
follows:

The Company's issued share capital as at 23 November 2007, following the
cancellation of the above Shares, was 388,082,196 Shares.
