The 600 Group PLC has been notified on 31 July 2000 pursuant to Section 198 of
the Companies Act 1985 that UBS Asset Management Limited and Phillips & Drew
Life Limited have an interest in 6,027,148 ordinary 25p shares in The 600 Group
PLC which represents 10.75% of the issued ordinary share capital of the Company.
