                          CHANGE OF SHAREHOLDING

The 600 Group PLC has been notified on 20 February 2001 pursuant to Section 198
of the Companies Act 1985 that Phillips & Drew Life Limited has an interest in
4,467,190 ordinary 25p shares of the Company, representing 7.97% of the issued
share capital of the Company and that, following its recent purchase of
2,155,000 ordinary 25p shares, Artemis UK Smaller Companies Fund now owns 3.8%
of the issued share capital of the Company.
