Zurich, November 5, 2003 - ABB has applied to the UK Listing Authority and the
London Stock Exchange plc for a block listing of 83,682,008 registered shares
with a nominal value of CHF 2.50 each and expected to be admitted to the
official list with effect from 6th November 2003.

These shares will be issued on conversions of convertible bonds.  The
convertible bonds were issued on 10th September 2003.
