RESULT OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING


The Board of Aberforth Smaller Companies Trust plc is pleased to announce that
all the resolutions proposed at the Annual General Meeting held at 6.00 p.m.
on 27 February 2001 were passed by Shareholders on a show of hands.  Proxies
lodged in respect of each of the five resolutions totalled 36,939,019, being
44.4% of the Ordinary Shares in issue.  Approximately 99.5% of the votes cast
for each resolution were cast in favour.
