Standard Life plc ('the Company')

Application has been made to the UK Listing Authority and the London Stock Exchange for 18,169,290 ordinary shares of 10 pence to be admitted to the Official List and to be admitted to trading.

These shares are being issued as a result of the vesting of share awards under the Standard Life Long Term Incentive Plan and the Standard Life Investments Long Term Incentive Plan.

They will rank equally with the existing issued ordinary shares of the Company.
