GERRY ROCCHI APPOINTED TO

STANDARD LIFE INVESTMENTS' BOARD

 

 

Standard Life Investments, the global fund manager, has today announced the appointment of Gerry Rocchi* as a Non-Executive Director to the board of Standard Life Investments (Holdings) Limited. The appointment is effective from 1st March 2014 and has been approved by the FCA.

 

Commenting on the appointment John Paynter, Non-Executive Chairman of Standard Life Investments (Holdings) Limited, said:

 

"As a current Director of The Standard Life Assurance Company of Canada, Gerry already knows our business extremely well. His appointment will strengthen the non-executive membership of the Standard Life Investments (Holdings) Limited board, bringing a deep understanding about the power of integrating sustainability into corporate strategy as well as a wealth of experience in investing and in corporate financial governance practices."

Gerry Rocchi is currently CEO of Green Power Action Inc., an environmental finance firm based in Toronto that manages Canada's first carbon-offset credit fund.  Since leaving Barclays Global Investors Canada in 2005, where he was CEO from 1997 to 2004 and thereafter led several strategic initiatives for the iShares global business line, Gerry has had a number of industry and regulatory roles. These include directorship, and chair of the board, of the Investment Industry Regulatory Association of Canada (IIROC), and directorship, and chair of the Finance and Audit Committee of Market Regulation Services, a predecessor of IIROC.
