Board Change

The Board of Standard Life plc ('the Company') announces that Kevin Parry has been appointed as a non-executive director of the Company with effect from today.

Commenting on his appointment Sir Gerry Grimstone, Chairman of the Company said:

"I am very pleased that Kevin Parry has agreed to join our Board.  His experience as the Chief Financial Officer of one of the FTSE's leading asset managers and his broad commercial background make him an ideal addition as we continue to drive forward the development of Standard Life."

At the same time as he joins the Board, Kevin will be appointed as a member of the Audit Committee and the Risk and Capital Committee.

Following this appointment, the Board of Standard Life plc will comprise three executive directors, nine non-executive directors and the Chairman.  The Board will be made up of three women and ten men.  Regulatory approval for Kevin Parry's appointment has been obtained.  His other appointments are listed below and no other information is required to be disclosed pursuant to paragraph LR 9.6.13R of the Listing Rules of the Financial Conduct Authority.
