Board Change

The Board of Standard Life plc ('the Company') announces that Melanie Gee has been appointed as a non-executive director of the Company with effect from 1 November 2015.

Commenting on her appointment Sir Gerry Grimstone, Chairman of the Company said:

"I am very pleased that Melanie has agreed to join our Board.  Her strong background in financial services and board experience make her an ideal addition as we continue to drive forward the development of Standard Life."

At the same time as she joins the Board, Melanie Gee will be appointed as a member of the Remuneration Committee.

Following this appointment, the Board of Standard Life plc will comprise two executive directors, eight non-executive directors and the Chairman.  The Board will be made up of four women and seven men.  The Financial Conduct Authority and the Prudential Regulation Authority have approved this appointment.  Melanie Gee's other appointments are listed below and no other information is required to be disclosed pursuant to paragraph LR 9.6.13R of the Listing Rules of the Financial Conduct Authority.
