Standard Life plc ('the Company') confirms that two copies of the following documents have been submitted to the Financial Services Authority ('FSA'):

-	Annual Report and Accounts 2009
-	Summary Financial Report 2009
-	AGM Guide (including Notice of Meeting)
-	Example of Voting Form for Certificated Shareholders
-	Example of Voting Form for Shareholders in the Standard Life Share Account
-	Shareholder News

These documents will shortly be available for inspection at the FSA's Document Viewing Facility at 25 The North Colonnade, Canary Wharf, London E14 5HS.

At the Company's Annual General Meeting ('AGM') due to be held on 14 May 2010, it is proposed that the Company adopts new Articles of Association. Details of the proposed changes are set out on pages 15 and 16 of the AGM Guide.  A copy of the draft amended Articles of Association of the Company showing all the proposed changes compared to the existing Articles of Association will also be available for inspection during normal business hours from Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays) at both Standard Life House, 30 Lothian Road, Edinburgh EH1 2DH and at the offices of the Company's solicitors, Slaughter and May, One Bunhill Row, London EC1Y 8YY.

Two copies of the draft Articles of Association of the Company showing the amendments to be proposed at the AGM have also been lodged with the Financial Services Authority.
