Standard Life proposes subordinated debt offering to Canadian investors

Standard Life plc (the "Company") today announced that its subsidiary, The Standard Life Assurance Company of Canada ("Standard Life Canada"), has issued an invitation to investors to attend a fixed income roadshow in Montreal, Vancouver and Toronto in respect of a proposed 10NC5 subordinated debt offering. 

The roadshow and proposed subordinated debt offering is being undertaken as part of the Company's active capital management strategy and any proceeds raised may repay, in whole or in part, existing intra-group subordinated debt issued by the Company to Standard Life Canada .
