     ABERDEEN ASIAN SMALLER COMPANIES INVESTMENT TRUST PLC (the "Company")

                             Conversion of Warrants

The Company has today applied for the listing of 71,547 new Ordinary shares of
25p each ("Ordinary Shares") arising on the exercise of 71,547 Warrants to
subscribe for Ordinary Shares at 100p per share ("Warrants") in the period to 30
November 2007. The Ordinary Shares will rank pari passu with the existing
Ordinary Shares of the Company.

Following the issue there will be 32,228,084 Ordinary Shares and 4,667,356
Warrants in issue.
