                             Conversion of Warrants

Application has been made by Aberdeen Asian Smaller Companies Investment Trust
PLC (the "Company") to the Financial Services Authority and the London Stock
Exchange for a total of 1,507,108 Ordinary shares of 25p each ("Ordinary 
Shares") to be admitted to the Official List.

It is expected that permission to admit the new shares will be granted on 13
December 2005 and that admission and trading will commence on 14 December 2005.

The listing application has been made following the exercise of 1,507,108
Warrants to subscribe for Ordinary Shares at 100p per share ("Warrants") in the
period to 30 November 2005.

The Ordinary Shares will rank, pari passu, with the existing Ordinary Shares of
the Company.  Following the issue there will be 31,161,208 Ordinary Shares and
5,492,292 Warrants in issue.
