Aberdeen Asian Smaller Companies Investment Trust PLC ("the Company")

Conversion of Warrants

The Company announces the allotment on 15 December 2008 of 229,063 Ordinary shares of 25p each under its block listing facility following the exercise of 229,063 Warrants to Subscribe for Ordinary shares in the period to 30 November 2008.

The issued share capital is now as follows:

31,195,986 Issued Ordinary shares (excluding treasury shares) 

1,684,221 Ordinary shares held in treasury

32,880,207 Issued Ordinary shares (including treasury shares) 

4,266,293 Warrants to Subscribe for Ordinary shares
