The Board of Aberdeen Asian Smaller Companies Investment Trust PLC announces,
with great regret, the death of Mr Eric Elstob after a long illness. Mr Elstob
had served as a non- executive Director since the formation of the Trust in
1995. His experience and wise counsel will be greatly missed by everyone
concerned with the management of the Trust.
