Aberdeen Asian Smaller Companies Investment Trust PLC ("the Company")



Issue of Equity

The Company announces the allotment on 19 December 2006 of 250,000 Ordinary
shares of 25p each under its block listing facility.  The issued share capital
is now 32,579,597 Ordinary shares.



These shares were issued at a price of 313p per share.  The fully diluted net
asset value per share at the close of business on 18 December 2006 was 310.42p.
