Aberdeen Asian Smaller Companies Investment Trust PLC (the "Company")

In accordance with the Financial Services Authority's Disclosure and Transparency Rules, the total number of ordinary shares of 25p of the Company in issue at 28 May 2010 is 31,161,615, with each share holding one voting right.

The above figure may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in voting rights, or a change to that interest, in the Company, under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.

The Company also holds 2,161,290 shares in Treasury.
