ABERDEEN ASIAN SMALLER COMPANIES INVESTMENT TRUST PLC - SHARE BUY-BACK

On 29 January 2010, Aberdeen Asian Smaller Companies Investment Trust PLC purchased in the market, 15,000 ordinary shares at 378.67 pence per share. These shares will be held in treasury. Following the transaction, the Company's share capital will comprise:

31,528,684 Issued Ordinary shares (excluding treasury shares) 

1,794,221 Ordinary shares held in treasury

33,322,905 Issued Ordinary shares (including treasury shares)
