ABERDEEN ASIAN SMALLER COMPANIES INVESTMENT TRUST PLC - SHARE BUY-BACK

On 16 March 2010, Aberdeen Asian Smaller Companies Investment Trust PLC purchased in the market, 50,000 ordinary shares at 408.5 pence per share. These shares will be held in treasury. Following the transaction, the Company's share capital will comprise:

31,346,615 Issued Ordinary shares (excluding treasury shares)

1,976,290 Ordinary shares held in treasury

33,322,905 Issued Ordinary shares (including treasury shares)
