ABERDEEN ASIAN INCOME FUND LIMITED (the "COMPANY")

BLOCKLISTING APPLICATION

Applications have been made for 6,500,000 ordinary shares of no par value ("Shares") to be admitted to the premium segment of the Official List of the UK Listing Authority and to the London Stock Exchange's main market under an Ordinary Share Blocklisting Facility and such admission is expected to become effective on Thursday, 24 November 2011.

Shares may be issued under the Blocklisting Facility for a tap issuance programme for general business purposes subject to guidelines laid down by the Board and in accordance with the Company's Articles of Association.  Any Shares will, when issued, rank pari passu with the existing ordinary shares of the Company.
