(1) Appointment of Mr Ian Cadby

The Board of Aberdeen Asian Income Fund Limited is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Ian Cadby as an independent non-executive Director of the Company with immediate effect.

Mr Peter Arthur, Chairman, commented:

"I am very pleased to welcome Mr Cadby to the Board.  Ian is a board executive and investment manager with over 27 years' experience within the hedge fund and derivatives trading industry spanning a number of jurisdictions including Asia, USA, UK and Jersey and has extensive experience in board strategy, corporate governance and risk management. Ian is the former Group CEO of Ermitage Ltd and has held senior positions at Cadby Wauton, Regent Pacific and Citibank."

There are no disclosures required to be made for Mr Cadby in respect of paragraphs 9.6.13 (1) - (6) of the Financial Conduct Authority's Listing Rules.

Mr Cadby is not interested in any of the Company's shares.

(2) Retirement of Duncan Baxter

As indicated in the Annual Report for the year ended 31 December 2015, Mr Baxter has retired as a Director of the Company with effect from the conclusion of today's Annual General Meeting.  The Board would like to reiterate its thanks to Duncan for his considerable contribution to the Company since its launch in 2005.
