(1) Appointment of Ms Nicky McCabe on 16 May 2018

The Board of Aberdeen Asian Income Fund Limited is pleased to announce that Ms Nicky McCabe will be appointed to the Board as an independent non-executive Director of the Company with effect from the conclusion of the Annual General Meeting ("AGM") to be held on 16 May 2018. 

Mr Peter Arthur, Chairman, commented:

"I am very pleased that Ms McCabe has agreed to join the Board with effect from 16 May 2018.  Nicky was formerly head of product and investment trusts at Fidelity International with experience across the full spectrum of asset management in back office operations, the investment team, proprietary investment, distribution and product management."

Ms McCabe is currently a non-executive director of Fidelity Special Values Investment Trust PLC, Bristol University and the charity Tomorrow's People.

There are no disclosures required to be made for Ms McCabe in respect of paragraphs 9.6.13 (1) - (6) of the Financial Conduct Authority's Listing Rules.

Ms McCabe does not hold any interests in any of the Company's shares.

(2) Retirement of Mr Peter Arthur on 16 May 2018

As indicated in the last Half Yearly Report and as part of the Board's on-going plans for orderly succession, Mr Peter Arthur has indicated that he intends to retire from the Board with effect from the conclusion of the AGM of the Company to be held on 16 May 2018. With effect from that date, Mr Charles Clarke will be appointed Chairman of the Company.
