Issue of Equity

Application will be made by Aberdeen Asian Income Fund Limited (the "Company") to the UK Listing Authority and the London Stock Exchange Plc for a total of 100,000 Ordinary shares of no par value each ("Ordinary Shares") to be admitted to the Official List, and dealings are expected to commence on 22 August 2011.

The listing application relates to the issue of 100,000 Ordinary Shares for cash on 16 August 2011 at 166 pence per share.  The new Ordinary shares will rank pari passu with the existing Ordinary Shares of the Company. 

The Ordinary issued share capital is now 135,228,071 Ordinary shares.

Following this issue of shares, the total number of Ordinary Shares in issue is 135,228,071 with each Ordinary share holding one voting right.  Therefore, the total number of voting rights in the Company is 135,228,071 and this figure may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in the Company, under the Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
