ABERDEEN ASIAN INCOME FUND LIMITED (the "Company")

New Term Loan Facility

The Company announces that it has entered into a new three-year £10,000,000 term facility (the "Facility") with Scotiabank Europe PLC ("Scotia"). The Facility is in addition to the existing £30,000,000 multicurrency revolving facility with Scotiabank (Ireland) Limited which is due to mature in April 2017.

£10,000,000 has been drawn down under the Facility and fixed for three years at an all-in rate of 2.2175%.  The Company's total gearing currently amounts to the equivalent of £39.4 million or 9.96% of the net assets.
