Further to the announcement made on 29 June 2012 at 10:00hrs (RNS No: 4029G), an application has been made to the UK Listing Authority and the London Stock Exchange Plc for 929,435 ordinary shares of no par value ("Shares") to be admitted to the Official List under an Ordinary Share Blocklisting Facility (replacing the previous application made for a Blocklisting Facility for 5,000,000 Shares).  Admission of 929,435 Shares is expected on Thursday 5 July.  Please see below the updated announcement.

ABERDEEN ASIAN INCOME FUND LIMITED (the "COMPANY")

BLOCKLISTING APPLICATION

Application has been made to the UK Listing Authority and the London Stock Exchange Plc for 929,435 ordinary shares of no par value ("Shares") to be admitted to the Official List under an Ordinary Share Blocklisting Facility. Admission of 929,435 Shares is expected on Thursday 5 July.

Shares may be issued under the Blocklisting Facility for general business purposes subject to guidelines laid down by the Board and in accordance with the Company's Articles of Association.  Any Shares will, when issued, rank pari passu with the existing ordinary shares of the Company.
