Aberdeen Asset Management PLC announces in conformity with the Transparency
Directive's transitional provision 6 we would like to notify the market of the
following:




Aberdeen Asian Income Fund Limited consists of 110,000,000 nil par value shares
with voting rights. Aberdeen Asian Income holds nil ordinary shares in Treasury.

Therefore, the total number of voting rights in Aberdeen Asian Income is
110,000,000.

The above figure (110,000,000) may be used by shareholders as the denominator
for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify
their interest in, or a change to their interest in, Aberdeen Asian Income under
the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
