CHANGE OF COMPANY NAME

The Board advises that, pursuant to Section 77 of the Companies Act 2006 and as permitted by the Company's Articles of Association, it has resolved to change the Company's name from Standard Life Equity Income Trust plc to Aberdeen Standard Equity Income Trust plc, with effect from 1 November 2018. The Company's ticker symbol for the London Stock Exchange will change from 'SLET' to 'ASEI' with effect from 6 November 2018.  The Company's ISIN and SEDOL will remain unchanged.
