The Board of Deutsche Equity Income Trust PLC announces that Mr Charles Anthony
Wood, who is chairman of the Trustees of Lehman Brothers Pension Scheme and 
member of the investment committee of the Daily Mail and General Trust plc 
Pension Scheme, has today been appointed as a non-executive director of the 
Company.  Mr Wood was formerly vice president International Operations at Old
Mutual Asset Management (UK) Limited.  We are aware of no further disclosable 
details under paragraph 6.F.2(b) to (g) of The Listing Rules.
