Appointment of New Director

Standard Life Equity Income Trust plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Caroline Hitch as an independent non-executive Director, with effect from 1 January 2017.

Ms Hitch is currently a Global Multi Asset Analyst (part time) at HSBC Global Asset Management (UK) Limited, London and is a non-executive Director of Schroders Asian Total Return Investment Company plc.

In addition to holding various senior positions in asset management at the HSBC group, Caroline has also worked at Standard Chartered/Capital House Asset Management and at James Capel & Co, where she commenced her career in 1981.   

Caroline has an Honours degree in Economics from Trinity College Cambridge, and holds the Association of International Bond Dealers Diploma. 

As at the date of this announcement, Ms Hitch held 6,500 Ordinary shares in the Company.

There are no other disclosures required under Section 9.6.13 (1) to (6) of the Listing Rules.
