RESULT OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

Standard Life Equity Income Trust PLC (the 'Company') hereby gives notification that, at the Annual General Meeting of the Company held earlier today, Tuesday 16 December 2008, all the resolutions as set out in full in the separate Notice of Meeting circular sent out to shareholders with the Annual Report, were duly passed.
