STANDARD LIFE EQUITY INCOME TRUST PLC (the "Company")

Total Voting Rights

In accordance with the Financial Conduct Authority's Disclosure and Transparency Rules, the total number of ordinary shares of 25p of the Company in issue at 28 February 2014 is 39,650,160 (excluding treasury shares) with each share holding one voting right.

The above figure may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in voting rights, or a change to that interest, in the Company, under the FCA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.

The Company also holds 707,328 shares in Treasury.

There are also 6,966,279 Subscription shares of 0.01 pence, with no voting rights, in issue as at the same date.
