Appointment of Chairman

Aberdeen All Asia Investment Trust PLC ("the Company") announces the appointment of Mr Neil Gaskell as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Company with effect from today, 24 September 2008. Mr Kevin Pakenham will become Chairman of the Audit Committee with effect from the same date.

Mr Gaskell was appointed a non-executive director of the Company on 31 March 2004 and has chaired the Audit Committee since July 2006. He succeeds Mr David Price as Chairman. Mr Price, who has recovered from illness, is pleased to remain as a Director of the Company.  As a consequence of these changes, Sir Robin McLaren stands down from his position as Acting Chairman and will continue in his role of Senior Independent Director.
