ABERDEEN JAPAN INVESTMENT TRUST PLC (THE "COMPANY")

Following the issue of 1,000,000 new Ordinary shares announced on 20 July 2015, application has been made by the Company to the UK Listing Authority and the London Stock Exchange Plc for a total of 1,000,000 Ordinary shares of 10p each ("Ordinary Shares") to be admitted to the Official List and dealings are expected to commence on 24 July 2015.

The new Ordinary Shares will rank pari passu with the existing Ordinary Shares of the Company. 

Following the issue, there will be 15,591,572 Ordinary Shares in issue with each Ordinary Share holding one voting right.  Therefore, the total number of voting rights in the Company will be 15,591,572 and this figure may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in the Company, under the Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
