Appointment of New Directors

The Board of Aberdeen New Dawn Investment Trust PLC is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Nicholas George and Mr John Lorimer as independent non-executive directors of the Company with effect from 1 January 2010.

Commenting on the appointments Mr Alan Henderson, Chairman of the Company said:

"Nicholas and John both have significant relevant business and financial expertise and an excellent working knowledge of the Far East. Their skill sets are particularly relevant to the Company and they will complement the existing strengths of the Board. The appointments are part of the process of refreshing the Company's Board that was initiated in 2006 and which we have updated shareholders regularly on since. This process will continue with the retirement of Mr Richard Bradley at the next Annual General Meeting of the Company which will be held in August 2010."

Mr Nicholas George

Mr George has over 30 years of experience in investment banking and hedge funds focusing on the Asian region.  Having originally qualified as a chartered accountant Mr George has held positions as a director of Robert Fleming Securities Limited, regional managing director at JP Morgan Securities Asia and managing director at HSBC Securities.  In 2003 he co-founded KGR Capital a leading Asian fund of alternative funds manager that was sold in 2008 to LGT Capital Partners.  Currently Mr George is a director of LGT Capital Partners (UK) Limited a leading alternative investment manager and a non executive director of a number of other companies including, Millennium & Copthorne Hotels plc, GK Goh Holdings Limited and EuNetworks Limited.

In accordance with paragraph 9.6.13 (1), Mr George is a non executive Director of the following public quoted companies and has not held any other directorships of quoted companies in the last five years:

GK Goh Holdings Limited

EuNetworks Limited

Millennium & Copthorne Hotels plc

There are no disclosures required to be made in respect of paragraphs 9.6.13 (2) - (6) of the Financial Services Authority's Listing Rules.

Mr George does not currently hold any of the Company's Ordinary shares.

Mr John Lorimer

Mr Lorimer has recently retired as group head of compliance and regulatory risk for Standard Chartered Bank and has extensive operational experience of the Asia and Australasia regions. Mr Lorimer has a degree in accounting and management from Auckland University and over 22 years of commercial banking experience having held a number of management positions in Citigroup prior to joining Standard Chartered Bank where he was group head of finance and latterly group head of compliance and regulatory risk.  Mr Lorimer is a member of the audit committee and a member of the board of trustees for Welsh National Opera and is a trustee of the Charities Aid Foundation and chairman of CAF Bank Limited.

Mr Lorimer does not hold any other public quoted company directorships (and has not held any public quoted company directorships in the last five years) and there are no disclosures required to be made in respect of paragraphs 9.6.13 (2) - (6) of the Financial Services Authority's Listing Rules.

Mr Lorimer does not currently hold any of the Company's Ordinary shares.
