Corrective Announcement:

Transaction by Person Discharging Managerial Responsibilities

Disclosure Rule DTR 3.1 (Article 19(6) of the Market Abuse Regulation ((EU) No 596/2014))

(a) Name of the Person:	Hugh Young (the "Director").
(b) Reason for the notification:	As a result of an administrative error, the Director's shareholding in the Company has been incorrectly reported.  In the Company's latest annual report and accounts, dated 30 April 2016 (the "Annual Report"), the Director was listed as owning 70,790 Ordinary Shares in the Company.  In addition to the 70,790 Ordinary Shares listed in the Annual Report, the Director holds a further 10,530 Ordinary Shares in the Company (the "Additional Shares").  The Additional Shares were acquired by the Director on 18 March 1999 as a result of a new issuance of ordinary shares by the Company in connection with a scheme of arrangement to acquire certain assets of Aberdeen Emerging Asia Investment Trust Limited.  Accordingly, the Annual Report should have listed Hugh Young's total holding of shares in the Company as being 81,320 Ordinary Shares (and each annual report and accounts of the Company since 18 March 1999 should have listed the Additional Shares as forming part of the Director's shareholding).

(e) The nature of the transaction(s) (e.g. acquisition or disposal), indicating whether it is linked to the exercise of share option programmes or to the specific examples set out in Article 19(7) of the Market Abuse Regulation ((EU) No 596/2014):	Please refer to (b) above.
(f) The date and place of the transaction:	Date: 18 March 1999 Place: London
(g) The price and volume of the transaction:	On 18 March 1999, the Director received 2,106 ordinary shares as a result of a new issuance of ordinary shares by the Company in connection with a scheme of arrangement to acquire certain assets of Aberdeen Emerging Asia Investment Trust Limited.  These shares were converted to 10,530 ordinary shares on 3 September 2013 as a result of the corporate action of the Company (a 5:1 sub-division of the relevant shares).  In connection with the original issuance of shares on 18 March 1999 and the conversion of the shares on 3 September 2013, both these occurrences were the result of the corporate actions of the Company, not a specific transaction by the Director, and he inadvertently failed to disclose his full shareholding in the Company.
