Directorate Changes

Appointment of Non-Executive Director

The Board of Aberdeen New Dawn Investment Trust PLC (the "Company") is delighted to announce the appointment of Ms Susie Rippingall as an independent non-executive director of the Company with effect from 1 July 2014. 

Commenting on the appointment Mr David Shearer, Chairman of the Company said:

"I am delighted to welcome Susie to the board of Aberdeen New Dawn Investment Trust PLC. She has significant investment management expertise and an excellent working knowledge of the Far East. Her skills are particularly relevant to the Company and will complement the existing strengths of the Board."

Ms Rippingall is a non-executive director of NTAsian Discovery Fund and Sovereign Asset Management Limited. From 1995 she worked for First State Stewart Investment Management (formerly Stewart Ivory) and was Portfolio Manager of the Scottish Oriental Smaller Companies Trust Plc from 2001 until her retirement in April 2013.

In addition, in accordance with Listing Rule 9.6.13R there are no details to be disclosed in respect of the requirements of paragraphs (2) to (6).

Retirement of Non-Executive Director

The Board also announces the retirement of Ms Heather Manners who will cease to be a Director of the Company on 30 June 2014. 

Commenting on Heather's retirement Mr David Shearer, Chairman of the Company said:

"Heather is standing down from the Board due to the potential for conflicts of interest with her other business. On behalf of the Board I would like to thank her for her input to the Board and we have benefited greatly from her experience.  We wish her well in her future endeavours."
