The Company was informed on 6/11/00 that The Equitable Life Assurance Society
is now interested in 1,000,000 Ordinary 2p shares; representing 4.07% of the
issued share capital of 24,562,133.

This notification has been made following a change in declaration obligation
following transfer of shares from beneficial ownership of an Equitable unit
trust (formerly owned by HSBC Bank Plc as Trustee) to a fund of an open ended
investment company (a wholly owned subsidiary of Equitable Investment Fund
Managers Ltd, in turn a wholly owned subsidiary of The Equitable Life
Assurance Society).
