Accounting Reference Date Change

The Board of New India Investment Trust PLC has resolved to change its
Accounting Reference Date from 28 February to 31 March with immediate effect.
Accordingly, the current accounting reference period for the Company will be
thirteen months long and will end on 31 March 2006.

The change has been implemented in order to align the Company's year end more
conveniently with the calendar year for reporting purposes.
