Appointment of Non-Executive Director

The Board of Aberdeen New India Investment Trust PLC (the "Company") announces the appointment of Rebecca Donaldson as an independent non-executive Director of the Company with effect from 1 September 2020.

Over the last twenty-eight years Rebecca has led the development of global marketing, communications and investor relations solutions for a broad range of investment companies, most recently as Head of Channel Marketing, EMEA at BMO Global Asset Management, and previously with Fidelity Worldwide Investments, Dexion Capital plc (now Fidante Partners) and UBS Global Asset Management AG.

Hasan Askari, Chairman of the Company, commented: "The Directors are delighted to have appointed Rebecca who combines a long career in investment management and strong digital marketing expertise, underpinning our continuing commitment to improve the promotion of the Company to existing and potential shareholders."

Rebecca Donaldson will stand for election as a Director at the Annual General Meeting of the Company to be held on 23 September 2020.

Rebecca Donaldson currently does not have an interest in any shares in the Company and there is no other information required to be disclosed in relation to this appointment, pursuant to the Financial Conduct Authority's Listing Rule 9.6.13R (1) - (6).
