The  Board of the Morgan Grenfell Latin American Companies Trust PLC announces
that  the Company has today purchased for cancellation 300,000 ordinary shares
in the Company at a price of 71.0p per share.

Following this purchase there are now 57,461,050 ordinary shares in issue.
